In 2021, Dr Belmo wrote the first dermatology for skin of colour syllabus for the UK dermatology specialist training curriculum, setting a precedence for future dermatologists’ experience and training in darker skin tones. She has been guest editor for MIMS Learning, producing a skin of colour matters special edition magazine which won the content excellence category of the Haymarket Business Media awards, 2022. She is a UK Dermatology clinical trials network (UKDCTN) steering committee member, and has been a reviewer for both Clinical experimental dermatology and Skin health and disease medical journals, and has been published in peer reviewed medical journals. She is also the medical advisor to the Scarring Alopecia Foundation UK CCCA support group. Dr Belmo frequently lectures at national and international conferences and is very much involved in dermatology for skin of colour education in the UK.

Dr Belmo is a very friendly, chatty, and empathetic doctor. She understands that skin and hair conditions can often be overlooked, particularly in people of colour, and therefore really takes time to listen to her patients worries and concerns before formulating management plans.

ARRANGE A CONSULTATION

"I recently had an appointment with Dr. Belmo in regards to my skin. She was very knowledgeable, patient, and helpful. As promised following the appointment, she sent me all the pertinent information that I needed to begin my new skin care routine. It was amazing to have a consultation with a black dermatologist. I would give this experience 10 stars."

"Fantastic! I couldn't have asked for a better consultant! I appreciate the time that Dr Belmo took to speak with and examine me during the very thorough appointment. Dr Belmo was friendly and approachable, which made it easier for me to communicate my concerns. I have now started a course of treatment. Thank you Dr Belmo."

"Dr Belmo is simply fantastic! A great find for a person of colour like myself (bearing in mind how hard it is to diagnose black skin). she is extremely knowledgeable, competent and friendly. I had a skin concern a couple of months ago and she managed to promptly book me in for a biopsy. She made me comfortable throughout the investigation process and once we got the diagnosis she took her time to explain the course of treatment required to manage the condition. I highly recommend her!"
